Susanne Hjälte is a silversmith and jewelry artist with a BA in jewelry and silversmithing from London, where she has her workshop and residence. Among the jewelry are small, well-polished, easy-to-wear animal skulls, rings, necklaces with semi-precious stones, and other animal and nature-related treasures.
Susanne mostly uses lost form in her creation, usually the original is made in wax, but where copies of real animal parts have been used, these have left the earthly life of natural souls to be found on various walks and then immortalized in recycled precious metal. Jewelry is cast with plant-based wax and recycled silver. The boxes are made of non-toxic cardboard, and produced on a small scale in England.
